Our Beliefs and Purpose

Loving, Following, and Sharing Jesus Christ

At Grace Bible Church, everything we do flows from one urgent call—to love, follow, and share Jesus Christ.

We believe lives transformed by grace will build a church that lives by the truth of God’s Word, serves with compassion, and touches the world with the hope of Jesus Christ.

Our Mission

We Love, Follow, and Share Jesus Christ

Our mission is simple yet life-changing. We are a community of believers seeking to:

  • Love Jesus deeply and extend His grace to others.
  • Follow Him faithfully as we pray and obey God’s Word.
  • Share His hope boldly with our neighbors and the nations.
We pursue this mission through biblical teaching, authentic relationships, praising God, and serving one another as disciples of Christ.

Our Core Commitments

  • Biblical Instruction

The Bible is God’s inspired Word and is the catalyst for spiritual transformation. We strive to know it and apply it to our lives because it speaks with relevance to the common needs of all people at all times. God’s Word is the authoritative and trustworthy manual for our lives. We will share it with others out of love and gratitude.

  • Christian Community/
    Fellowship

Loving relationships exist in every area of church life. Therefore, God’s love flowing through people is the norm. We value people being and feeling accepted because this is how God treats us. The healthiest form of this expression of love takes place when we have a proper attitude and relationship with God.

  • Serving Others

Jesus came to serve. We aim to follow His lead. We believe that the church should function as a unified body of servants using their spiritual gifts, talents and resources. The goal is to encourage the Church and impact those who do not know Christ. It is in serving others that we express the compassion and concern of Christ in our days.

  • Lifestyle Worship

Worship is our response to God’s character and His redemptive plan. This is reflected in our attitudes, generosity, service and creative pursuit of the Kingdom of God. Therefore, we will offer our lives to encourage one another and attract others to Christ.

  • Sharing Christ

God desires for us to reach as many people as possible with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we aspire to develop relationships with people in our community and abroad who may not know Christ so we can share Christ with them. We will remain culturally relevant and biblically accurate using our relationships and resources to share Jesus.

  • Disciple Making

We aspire to be so in love with Christ that we are not comfortable being idle. We are captivated by a vision to fulfill the Great Commission to make disciples. We believe being a disciple and making disciples are best practiced within the framework of small groups.

  • Leadership Development

We believe being fully devoted to Christ naturally leads to a person becoming an influence for Christ at home, work, play and church. God provides leaders in the local church to equip and encourage God’s people to be a godly influence. Therefore, we aspire to provide training opportunities so individuals will be encouraged to reach their full potential – developing leadership responsibility and empowerment as they use their spiritual gifts in the body of Christ.

What We Believe

Our Statement of Faith — What We Believe

Our mission is simple yet life-changing. We are a community of believers seeking to:

  • Love Jesus deeply and extend His grace to others.
  • Follow Him faithfully as we pray and obey God’s Word.
  • Share His hope boldly with our neighbors and the nations.
We pursue this mission through biblical teaching, authentic relationships, praising God, and serving one another as disciples of Christ.
  1. We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired of God and inerrant in the original writings, and that they are of supreme and final authority. (Matt. 5:18, John 16:12-13, II Tim. 3:16-17, II Peter 1:19-21, Rev. 22:18-19)

  2. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, three in one, co-equal, which is the Trinity. (Deut. 6:4, Matt. 3:16-17, 28:19-20, John 1:1, 14, Acts 5:3-4, II Cor. 13:14, Col. 1:15-17)

  3. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of God, conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. (Is. 7:14, Matt. 1:22-23, Luke 1:26-27, John 1:1-2, 14, Col. 1:15-20)

  4. We believe in the Holy Spirit, one of the three persons of the Trinity, who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He is the life of every believer, and He empowers the preaching and teaching of the gospel. (John 3:3-7, 16:7-11, Rom. 8:9, I Cor. 3:16, 12:12-14, II Cor. 1:22, 3:6, Eph. 1:13-14)

  5. We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death, but spiritual death, which is separation from God, and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and are sinners in thought, word, and deed. (Gen. 1:26-27, Rom. 3:22-23, 5:12, Eph. 2:1-3, 12)

  6. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. (John 1:12, 3:16, Eph. 1:7, 2:8-10, I Peter 1:18-19)

  7. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into heaven and His present life there as High Priest and Advocate for all believers. (Acts 1:9-10, Rom 8:34, I Tim. 2:5, Heb. 7:25, 8:1, I John 2:1-2)

  8. We believe in that “blessed hope”, the personal, premillennial, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (Dan. 9:1-27, Zech. 14:4-11, I Thes. 1:10, 4:13-18, 5:9, II Thes. 2:7-8, Rev. 1:7, 3:10, 19:11-16, 20:6)

  9. We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit, and thereby they become children of God, and heirs of eternal life. This is a relationship in which they are eternally secure. (John 10:29, 2 Tim. 1:12, Heb. 7:25, 10:10, 14, I Peter 1:3-5)

  10. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting conscious suffering of the lost, and the joy of the saved, which demand heaven and hell. (Matt. 25:46, John 5:28-29, 11:25-26, Rev. 20:5-6, 12-13)

  11. We believe in the existence of a personal Devil (Satan), who is working in the world to thwart the work of God and to deny Christ as our Savior and will be eternally punished in the lake of fire. (Job 1:6-7, Isa. 14:12-17, Ezk. 28:12-19, Matt. 4:1-11, 25:41, Rev. 20:10)

  12. We believe in the Church, the body of Christ, whose mission it is to preach the gospel to all the world with its endeavors being supported by the freewill gifts and offerings of the people. (I Cor. 12:12-14, II Cor. 11:2, Eph. 1:22-23, 5:25-27)

  13. We believe that the ordinances of the Church, given by our Lord, are Baptism (by immersion following conversion) and the Lord’s Table (communion). (Matt. 28:19-20, Acts 2:41-42, 18:8, Rom. 6:4, I Cor. 11:23-26)
